My Sisters Smokey Eye Look

Over the next few days, you will probably see a lot of posts of me doing my sisters make-up. The post today is on the make up look I did for her last weekend when she went on a night out with her girly friends. I have done a slight smokey eye on her before but this time I wanted to play it up a little. So, what I did was smoke it upwards a little bit more than I normally would.

I was going to upload what she looked like before but I didn't want to scare anyone. LOL I'm joking. Just don't think she would appreciate me putting pictures of her without makeup on the net. :S

This is what it ended up looking like,

Again sorry for her dodgy posing! LOL.. Sarah if you're reading this, sort it out love! LOL

I enjoyed creating this look. I  mainly used my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette..  I feel like I need to work on the way I apply brow make-up. I don't think I got it right this time but they don't look too bad. At least they did not look too strong.  Next time she lets me do her make-up maybe I'll use a darker colour.

Sisters Birthday Look

I wanted to share the look that I created on my sister for her birthday celebration. We had planned a surprise birthday for her. She didn't know where she was going and wanted to keep the look quite natural. All she knew is that she was going to dinner with two friends.  I obviously did know what was going to happen. :P

Here is the look, (Sorry for the flash!)

We kept the eyes quite natural and just placed a pop of colour on the lip.  I made good use of my Urban Decay Basics Palette which I'm loving at the moment.

The products used are:

Face
UD Naked Foundation
MAC Select Cover- Up  NC20 + NW25 - Under eyes and around nose
MAC Pet Me Blush - Apples of cheek
MAC Semi  Precious Rose Quartz - Cheekbone highlight
Illamasqua Spite - Contour

Eyes
UD Naked Basics Palette - (Foxy all over the lid, Naked 2 in the crease and a hint of Faint also in the crease, & Venus in the inner corner and as brow bone highlight)
UD Primer Potion in Eden
Maybelline Master Precise Eye liner - Upper lashline
MACs Fascinating Eye Kohl - On the inner corner waterline
UD Whiskey Eye Kohl - On the outer corner waterline
Clinique High Impact Mascara

Lips
NARS Matte lipstick in Carthage - On the lips
Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Manic - Lipline
Victorias Secret Beauty Rush lipgloss in Grapefruit Blast

It was a pretty simple look but I really like it. My sister doesnt normally wear bright colours on the lip but this just gave it a slight pop of colour.

As for her birthday, she thoroughly enjoyed it. She even cried twice!. Hahaha..

WET n WILD - Mega Last Matte Lipsticks

I was recently watching a video on Youtube from Heyyjune. She made an order with beautyjoint.com for some American drugstore products and she was quite happy with what she bought and how the company had dealt with her order. I rarely purchase products from abroad and I've wanted to try the Wet n Wild lipsticks for a while so decided to order some.

These lipstick were very affordable. They were priced at $2.75 each which at the moment is under 2 Pounds. (pound sign has gone missing from my keyboard :S)

I decided to order 10 lipsticks in order to justify the shipping cost. I didn't want to spend less on the products than the shipping.

I must say for the price of these lipsticks they are are AMAZING!!  They have easily become some of my favourites. Firstly, they do not smell!!  This is a big plus for me as I tend to stay away from a lot of brands because the smell of their lipsticks make me nauseous.

The lipsticks are very pigmented. Most of them go on quite opaque.

The texture of the lipsticks are very creamy even though it has a matte finish. They are not chalky and don't drag during application.  I can't really fault the formula. I would suggest you apply a lipbalm before applying the lipstick as with any Matte lipsticks, they can make your lips a bit dry after a few hours.

The downside to these lipsticks is the packaging. I hate how the lipstick does not go all the way down into the tube and part of it sticks out. You always tend to get the lipstick on the lid which makes it very messy.  If you are not careful with the lid then you could end up denting or even breaking the lipstick, but I guess for the price paid you can't really complain though.

As for my colour choices, I did not choose any red lipsticks as I have far too many. I wanted colours that were quite plum/purple based and pink colours.  The colour swatches can be found below:

From L- R: 918D Cherry Bomb, 908C Sugar Plum Fairy, 916D Ravin' Raisin, 907C Mauve Outta Here, 905D Smokin' Hot Pink

From L-R: 906D Wine Room, 904B Rose-Bud, 912C In The Flesh, 914C Mocha-licious & 902C Bare It All

I am of a MAC NC25 complexion for reference. I am slightly paler at the moment as it is winter.

My favourites out of the bunch have to be 908C Sugar Plum Fairy and 907C Mauve It Outta Here. My least favourite has to be 914 Mocha-licious. The colour just looks horrible on my skin tone but I cant wait to try this out on my darker friends or even on my mum.

Overall, I would really recommend these lipsticks. They are very affordable, easy to use and very pigmented.

Until next time!!

OOTD

OOTD :)

I recently put this outfit together for work. I always wear a cardigan over it though as my tattoo shows at the back. Don't think its very work appropriate especially as my back faces the door. :)

Day Out in Regents Park / OOTD

A few weeks back me and my boyfriend decided to go to the Rose Gardens in Regents Park as we both bought new cameras. I bought the Lumix G3 and my boyfriend bought the snazzy Canon 600d.. Its so nice that even though we live in London we are still able to visit beautiful natural places like this..

On to the pictures from the park :)

The boyfriend :)

 Lots and lots of roses....
Can you see the heart?? So Cute.. <3

 Beautiful...

Our new friend...

Just thought I would share my day.. We basically just went to the park to take photos.. At one point we saw a big bird steal a chick from a nest. It was so sad that we couldn't do anything about it.

OOTD

My vest is from River Island, Necklace from H&M, Skirt from Primark.

More OOTD's to post and I have been messing around with my camera so hopefully more posts in general.. :)

Have a great week!!

Christmas Party Make up

Christmas is coming which means lots of partying. I recently did my sisters make up for her Christmas party. She came to me at 7.30 in the morning meaning she had to wear her make up all throughout the day and then go out for her party. She's not very confident with make up application hence why she asked me to help her.

Please pardon her serious face! LOL she was very shy and did not know how to pose. Either way she looks beautiful in my eyes. So I had to keep the make up quite simple as she did have to spend the day at work. So I opted for a simple smokey eye with a little pop of colour.

These are the colours I used on her lids....
L-R: UDs Vanilla, UDs Flow, Macs Straw Harvest, Macs Off the Page, UDs Hustle, UDs Half Truth and UD's Blackout

In the inner corner of her eye I applied Vanilla by Urban Decay. I then mixed Flow by Urban Decay with Mac's Straw Harvest and Off the Page and placed this on her lid. On the outer 'V' I mixed Urban Decays Hustle, and Half truth. I also placed a small hint of Blackout by Urban Decay. To top it off I just lined her lids with Maybelline's Black Gel liner.

I also kept her lips quite neutral as I wanted the eyes to be the main focus. My sister doesn't normally play up her make up and normally just wears foundation, blush and mascara. Her foundation is Illamasqua Skinbase foundation. On her cheeks I mixed Expose and Create Blushes by Illamasqua. On her lips she is wearing Angel lipstick by Mac and a lipglass called Lustreglass

Happy Partying!

Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Palette

I recently purchased the Urban Decay 15 yr palette. I bought it because House of Fraser  had a brand event on and I got 10% off the original price. I had been itching to buy something but I didn't know what to get until I was on YouTube again and saw videos of this palette.

It comes with 15 eye shadows!!! I think this palette is great value for money. You get so much for your money and you have a range of colours from neutrals to brights.

The packaging is to pretty too!! It doesn't feel cheap at all. Feels luxurious and edgy at the same time. You can tell they have spent a lot of time on this palette. I think its much better than the Naked Palette as it has an expensive feel to it. The only downside to the packaging is that your fingerprints get everywhere because it has a mirrored effect.

Don't let this put you off as the quality of the shadows is amazing and the one reason why I really wanted to buy this palette is because of 'Blackout' shadow. Its an intense black and its sooo creamy. Makes it easier to apply. It doesn't compare to my Carbon from Mac.

There are 15 colours in total and they are all so creamy and easy to apply. The only one I think I have difficulty with is Vanilla. When I apply this colour its not so creamy its more chunky. I can't really explain it but when I apply this to the lid its not very smooth.

on to the swatches...

L-R: Midnight Rodeo, Midnight 15, Vanilla, Flow and Chase

L - R :   Tainted, Junkshow, Omen, Evidence and Deep end

L-R : Deeper, M.I.A, Ace, Blackout and Half Truth

Overall, this palette is amazing! you can create alot of different looks with it and most of the colours are easy to work with. I think that they should have added more Matte colours but Urban Decay are known for having palettes that don't have much Matte colours.

Now I can't wait for the Naked 2 Palette!!

Have a great weekend and sorry for the late post!
